A quick analyis of the play "Child's Grave, Hale County, Alabama" by Jim Simmerman

This poem struck me with its vivid description of the hard aliveness that people during the Depression suffered. This is non just a fib of the burial of a child. This is a window into the hardships of a generation of people. The bringscape is drawn as a harsh, barren land that chips remote at plows. Poverty is blatant from the father having to purloin the woodwind instrument for the grave marker, to the mother sleeping on a lemon shuck mat in the shack that they lived in. There is in any case symbolism in the piece of two-by-four that was dictated into the hard land. It not only symbolized the conclusion of the child provided also the death of hope in their hard valet de chambre. It was a symbol of the overlay that the father had to bear, of his grief over not being adapted to provide for and save his child. It is also exemplary that there be no words on the cross. It could claim been that he was uninstructed as most in his time were; however, I nip that the wor ds were intention anyy left dispatch because this cross was a symbol to his family that their child was lain there. It was not for the world to see.

It was for the father to bonk that though he could not check the child all it needed to survive, at least he could give him a proper burial. On a facial expression note, this poem struck me because I feel that all overly often we think our lives argon so hard forgetting what foregone generations have gone through. Poems identical this are a lineament of reality check for me. If you necessitate to get a upright essay, order it on our website: OrderEssay.net
